  1. Great captures of this beautiful bird, dear Mags ❤ Greetings from sunny Stockholm, Sweden where I enjoy the company of family and friends right now.

  2. Hello “Woody”!! He sure is one handsome bird Maggie! You always take such FAB photos!
I hope it is somewhat cooler there; heat wave swamped us again today. It is brutal…..

    1. Thank you. Sorry you have the heat again…still going on here. Mid to upper 90’s heat indexes triple digits and no rain.

      1. EEKKK!!! I hope you have A/C Maggie!?!? Today has been perfect…22 C/ 71 F with NO humidity with a light North Wind….much better!
Have you had any rain yet? Not a drop has fallen here!!! it is a drought situation. My friends who have a Limousin Cattle farm had to plow the hay crop as it did not grow….they are trying to grow the hay again…..if they can’t bringn in their own hay it will cost a fortune to buy from G-d-only-knows-where & if the soybean crop gets plowed under this might be the end of their farm…….it is very scary!!

        1. I do have AC and I am very thankful for it. So sorry to hear about your friends farm, so sad. Hope and pray rain comes soon for them and all who need it. Still no rain in my area either heat is still raging along with humidity.

  3. Beautiful photos of a beautiful visitor, Maggie! We get those here once in a while … they are a real treat to see, aren’t they? 🙂

Hugs to you, Chancey and Pooh!

  4. It is like I am just inches away from him. Excellent shots of a beautiful bird. Such stark coloring.

    1. Thank you, he was only about 10 feet from me and I took the photos through a window…was very surprised and happy when I saw how well they turned out. His colors are amazing.

    1. Isn’t he beautiful…he was within 10 feet of me when I got the photos. I was so happy when I saw how well they turned out. ❤

  5. What great shots of this beautiful bird. It amazes me how fast woodpeckers can peck on wood without getting disoriented or getting a headache,
    Happy 4th of July Mags.
    Hugs, Julia

    1. They can make a lot of noise with all that fast pecking too. I hear them pecking a lot. He for sure is a beautiful bird. No plans for the 4th but to do whatever makes me happy. 🙂 Hugs to you sweet Julia
