Swinging and Eating

Tufted Titmouse

I decided to try some food logs for the birds this year to see if they liked them. It was a windy day and the feeder was swinging in the breeze. That little titmouse was swinging and eating. The feeder has a large baffle attached so the birds enjoy eating even when it is raining. One of the feeders has a cage around it and the tiny birds are enjoying eating there. So far the logs have been a big hit.

Some of the squirrels are enjoying eating at this feeder…but I don’t mind they get hungry too. The logs last a long time so there is plenty of food for birds and squirrels.

  1. We are glad all the birds and squirrels love those logs. And we love that the little titmouse was just swinging away and eating at the same time. It really is a pleasure to watch them do their thing, isn’t it? Hugs to you and Chancy, Mags!

    1. They even eat on it when the wind is blowing it a lot…it is fun to watch them swing and eat. You are welcome sweet Sis…I like sharing them. Love you much! ❀

  7. That log looks like it has a good variety of seeds and other good food for the birds. I’ve never tried a log and I’m sure with all the squirrels we have around here it would not last very long.
I have feeders that only small birds can get in and the bigger birds have to be content to eat what falls on the ground and the squirrels too. I’ll be on the lookout for that type of log.
Thanks for sharing the picnic with us.
    Hugs, Julia
